ABSTRACT

It is widely accepted that there will be long-term adverse consequences to health and health services in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic. We are experiencing one of the biggest global recessions, in large part as a consequence of the pandemic, that will also contribute further major negative impact on our health and wellbeing. The short and long-term impact of the Covid pandemic and the recession on our future health and health services is uncertain, but it will certainly trigger an increase in mental health and other long-term health conditions, especially amongst vulnerable groups.
